The Future of Subsea Intervention Starts Here

The Electric ROV represents a leap forward in underwater performance. It is fully integrated and ready to transform the way you operate offshore. The system delivers 30-day campaign residency, plug-and-play connections for sensors and tooling, advanced camera systems providing situational awareness and automation, and increased thrust and payload for high-demand operations.

Lighting Electric ROV

Built for Performance. Designed for Progress.

Engineered for operational flexibility, this electric work class ROV can replace a Millennium® Plus vehicle in just one day, minimizing downtime and maximizing subsea productivity. Electrification enables efficient power delivery to support a wide range of subsea operations, including inspection maintenance, and repair (IMR), and construction, drilling, and completion activities.

Why Choose the Electric ROV?

Efficiency and Uptime

  • Minimize vessel time with up to 30 days of maintenance-free deployment
  • Enable 24/7 operations with advanced remote piloting and pilot assistance features

Environmental Advantages

  • Reduce emissions with a fully electric propulsion system
  • Reduce the likelihood and volume of hydraulic leaks to sea

Enhanced Capacity and Capabilities

  • Boost thrust, lift, and payload with a redesigned heavy-duty frame
  • Plug-and-play iPEMs enable fast sensor and tool integration

A Smarter Way to Work Offshore

The Electric work class ROV is optimized for a full range of subsea missions, including pipeline inspection, survey, construction support, and drilling and completion. With plug-and-play architecture and real-time remote control, the system empowers you to scale quickly, adapt to changing scopes, and execute operations more efficiently.

Cleaner Operations. Lower Environmental Risk

Our Electric ROV is engineered for energy efficiency, using 45% less power than traditional systems to help cut vessel fuel use and emissions. With fewer hydraulic components, it also reduces the risk of subsea leaks and supports ESG compliance, including Petroleum Operations Notice 1(PON1) reporting in regions such as the UK and Norway. It’s a safer, smarter, and more sustainable way to operate subsea.

Smart Connectivity. Seamless Integration

Backed by Oceaneering’s Tecnologia de controle e pilotagem remota (RPACT) and supported by our Centros de operações remotas em terra (OROCs), the Electric ROV enables 24/7 real-time subsea control from onshore. This approach helps reduce offshore personnel, improve operational consistency, and minimize safety risk in remote and challenging environments.

Electric Work Class ROV

Integrated HD Camera Systems with Automation Support

The Electric ROV is equipped with a high-definition camera suite and VR-ready visualization tools that enhance pilot awareness, enable automation, and provide precise control in subsea environments. It features integrated navigation and piloting technologies that deliver real-time dynamic positioning, mid-water stability, and automated control.

360° Wrap-Around Cameras

Enhance situational awareness through panoramic views, bird’s-eye perspectives, and VR headset visualization.

Stereo Forward-Facing Cameras

Provide depth perception via VR headsets and enable automated functions via Video Tracking and Positioning (VTAP).

Automated Subsea Dynamic Positioning

Provides subsea dynamic positioning even in mid-water. The system is sensor agnostic and supports USBL, DVL/INS, VTAP, or sonar.

Automated ROV Piloting Experience

Stabilizes the ROV piloting experience using auto heading, depth, and pitch control, while waypoint and cruise control automate transits.

30-Day Subsea ROV Operations with Redundant Power and iPEMs

Redundant power distribution isolates high- and low-power devices and enables power rerouting to maintain subsea operations in the event of a component failure. Plug-and-play intelligent Power and Ethernet Modules (iPEMs) support quick replacement of critical components within one hour and simplify the integration of new subsea sensors and tooling. Extensive tank and field testing confirm the ROV’s ability to operate continuously for 30-day subsea campaigns without recovery for intervention. The optional Omnio™ System tool changer extends remote offshore operations by eliminating the need for surface retrieval when mission requirements change.

It is a next-generation, large electric work-class ROV designed to deliver 30-day campaign residency, enable easy expansion of tooling and sensor capabilities, and deliver a new standard in pilot interfaces while increasing vehicle performance.

This system uses electric propulsion and plug-and-play architecture to deliver high thrust, long dive times, and fewer failure points than hydraulic systems.

Yes. The Electric ROV is designed for a quick upgrade to existing Millennium systems by using the existing tether, cage, umbilical, and launch and recovery system (LARS). Control rooms will also be upgraded to provide improved pilot experience.

Our iPEMs enable 1 hour replacement of components and installation of new sensors and tooling without time-consuming rewiring or reconfiguration.

Paired with OROC and RPACT, the ROV enables real-time piloting and monitoring from onshore. This removes the need for constant surface intervention. Reducing the maintenance required will further enable operators to execute piloting from onshore.

It is a fully capable large work class ROV ideal for customers accustomed to the power of Millennium, especially in regions with strict environmental requirements or operations requiring extended duration dives.

The Electric ROV is undergoing continuous endurance testing both in a test tank and in offshore trials from 2024 through Q4 2025. The ROV will be commercially available in Q1 2026.

By minimizing hydraulic components and drawing 45% less power than traditional systems, the Electric ROV reduces vessel emissions, lowers the risk of fluid leaks, and supports compliance with offshore environmental regulations.

Yes. A dedicated BOP Pumping Skid will be available, specifically designed to close BOP rams in full compliance with API 53 (American Petroleum Institute Standard 53) requirements.

The Electric ROV is fully compatible with existing hydraulic cage and tophat style tether management (TMS) systems. However, customers seeking an all-electric solution may request integration with a fully electric cage to align with specific operational or environmental requirements.

The Electric ROV is designed to integrate with the Omnio™ System Tool Changer. However, this tool changer is also compatible with existing hydraulic ROVs for broader operational flexibility.

Yes. A small auxiliary hydraulic power unit (HPU) is included to operate the manipulators and support customer-supplied hydraulic tooling. In future configurations, Omnio™ tooling and electric manipulators will eliminate the need for hydraulics entirely.

Yes. The vehicle is configurable for use with a tophat-style TMS, allowing flexibility in deployment based on customer infrastructure and operational requirements.
