September 3, 2019 – Houston, Texas – Oceaneering International, Inc. (“Oceaneering”) is proud to announce that the company’s Subsea Pumping Technology (SPT) is a finalist for the Best Deepwater Technology Award category at the 2019 World Oil Awards.
Numerous entries were received for each of the World Oil Awards’ 18 categories and a select number of finalists were chosen by an independent panel composed of industry leaders.
SPT offers operators the ability to reduce or eliminate their topside footprint by moving chemical storage and injection systems subsea. SPT facilitates faster response times for chemical delivery compared to a standard umbilical. Not only can operators save time, but they can reduce CAPEX associated with long-length step outs (>30 miles/50km) by 50% versus traditional methods.
The system is scalable to meet field requirements, road transportable, and the modules can either be refilled subsea or retrieved and replaced. SPT also supports the move towards unmanned or subsea factories, along with all-electric technologies currently being implemented in subsea architecture.
Roderick A. Larson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Oceaneering, said, “We are honored to have been recognized for developing innovative technologies that make the offshore oil and gas industry more competitive, regardless of market conditions. Our SPT system is one way we constantly strive to provide cost-effective, value-added solutions for our customers.”
The winners of this year’s awards will be announced at a gala held October 17 in Houston. SPT is no stranger to industry accolades. The system was recognized with a Spotlight on New Technology Award at the 2019 Offshore Technology Conference this past May.
