Oceaneering hosts Minister for Mines and Petroleum Bill Johnston at Jandakot facility

26 March 2021 — Oceaneering Australia recently welcomed the Hon. Bill Johnston, the Government Minister for Mines and Petroleum; Energy: Industrial Relations, to our Jandakot, Perth, facility on 25 March 2021.

Minister Johnston toured the facility with Brett Phillips, Technical Solutions Manager – Australia; and Jason Hughes, Senior Manager, Offshore Projects Group – Asia Pacific, who also presented Oceaneering’s local capabilities. During the meeting, Minister Johnston shared his vision for making Perth into the APAC hub for decommissioning and associated technologies. Phillips and Hughes discussed how Oceaneering could fit within the region’s decommissioning requirements.

“It was an honor to host the Hon. Bill Johnston for a visit to our facility in Jandakot, Western Australia,” Hughes said. “He was able to view Oceaneering’s subsea decommissioning technologies and capabilities, and we were able to discuss how Oceaneering is supporting lower cost decommissioning solutions for the industry.”

The Jandakot facility serves as Oceaneering’s Asia Pacific regional headquarters. The facility features assembly bays, pressure testing bays, functional testing bays, electrical workshop, inspection areas, light machining, CNC machining, and additional services. Our offices also provide a range of internal learning and development opportunities from safety training to ongoing certifications.
