“The transition from the military to civilian employment was difficult for me initially. I was longing for the structure, hierarchy, and comradery the military provided. Fortunately, I was given an opportunity to join Oceaneering which has given me a sense of fulfillment.”
She joined Oceaneering in 2011 as a Supply Chain Management Production Coordinator. From 2012 to 2022, she served as Production Planner and later Project Manager within the Subsea Robotics group, specializing in ferngesteuertes Fahrzeug (ROV) projects. In 2020, Jennifer attained her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. In 2022, Jennifer enrolled in MBA graduate studies and transferred to Oceaneering Technologien (OTECH) where she assumed the role of Project Planner for the large vehicle portfolio team.
“I am grateful to work for an organization that supports growth and advancement opportunities.”
As a Project Planner, Jennifer manages material plans to support program schedules, communicates and mitigates schedule risks, works closely with element leads and program management teams, and forecasts material needs for financial reporting.
“What excites me the most about working for Oceaneering is the opportunity to work with a diverse team to support challenging projects while developing new skills.”
Jennifer’s advice to transitioning service members is to do their due diligence.
“Prior to leaving the military, determine the top three civilian positions that are comparable to your military specialty. It is imperative to locate a civilian position that will utilize the skills and training learned in the military to lessen the burden of the transition.”
