DOD SkillBridge Program

As an authorized DoD SkillBridge organization, Oceaneering works with each of the applicable branches of U.S. military services and respective installation commanders to develop SkillBridge training programs for their personnel.

Jump start your civilian career before leaving the service! Oceaneering can offer active duty service members – with transferable skills and experience – approved unpaid internship opportunities for in-demand career fields with high probability of post-service employment. SkillBridge Internships may start only during the service member's 180-day window prior to separation from active duty. The internships require applicable military command approval, official no-cost TAD/TDY orders, and the successful completion of Oceaneering's pre-internship screening requirements.

In 1964, Mike Hughes and Johnny Johnson formed a Gulf of Mexico diving company called World Wide Divers. The company grew in response to increasing demand for their services and in 1969 merged with two other diving companies to form Oceaneering International, Inc.
