Oceaneering International’s Houston-based High Performance Cables (HPC) division opened in 2009. The 120,000 sq ft facility allows the company to produce its own Magnum® and Millennium® Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) umbilicals and tethers to meet exacting mechanical, electrical and optical specifications. The site also offers specialty umbilical products, tethers, and cables for custom applications in other industries such as communications and defense.

Lean manufacturing is employed throughout the facility. The layout of the plant considerably reduces handling of raw and in-process materials. Safety is the first priority whether moving product within the facility or receiving raw materials for Just in Time (JIT) manufacturing.
