The Driller and Toolpusher’s Control Panels (DCP and TCP) are part of the main BOP MUX Control System. The system utilizes dedicated remote control panels, which interface to the System Control Units (SCUs).
Fiber optic communication is provided from the System Control Units (SCUs) in the Master Control Station. The Driller’s Control Panel and the Toolpusher’s Control Panel operate the same in terms of the controls provided by each unit.
The Driller’s Control Panel is designed to be intrinsically safe for hazardous environments and includes a horn, purge unit, and purge vent. The Toolpusher’s Control Panel is designed for non-hazardous environments. The DCP and TCP are micro-processor based units consisting of both control and monitoring sections.
Contents of main panel enclosures include power supplies, microcomputer assemblies, video interface processors, alphanumeric displays, and communications electronics. The communications equipment provides the system interface for all inputs and the updating of status outputs.
