The DSSI Ocean ProHD-3D system offers full three dimensional stereoscopic High Definition (HD) imaging for the ROV pilot and the end user. ROV pilots and offshore personnel can view the video live while flying the ROV, and Oceaneering onshore customers can view 3D recordings as well.
3D HD video has proven valuable at greatly increasing manipulator skills of the ROV pilot, which saves time and improves task accuracy. It also adds a new level of operator situational awareness not usually possible with standard definition TV imaging.
This second generation system has been in development for several years and has now been fully tested at depth on Oceaneering Work Class ROVs. It has been used to help perform detailed inspections as well as hundreds of manipulator tasks and tooling operations.
