The Oceaneering® Magnum® 169 team is photographed after setting a new ROV drill support depth record
An Oceaneering® Magnum® Plus work class Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) has set a new ROV ultra deepwater drill support depth record offshore India while working at 10,385 feet water depth (3,165 meters). Magnum 169 is supporting drilling operations onboard rig Dhirubhai Deepwater KG1 (DDKG1) for ONGC and has been in service since Q3 2009. The ROV is a 4,000 meter rated system that has logged over 8309 hours and 961 total dives so far.
The previous 2011 record of operating at 10,194 feet (3,107 meters) water depth was also set in India by Oceaneering Millennium® 77 while working onboard rig Dhirubhai Deepwater KG2 (DDKG2) for Reliance Industries Limited (RIL).

Oceaneering Deepwater Technical Solutions (DTS) has solidified its Gulf of Mexico (GOM) market position in cutting and decommissioning since the 2011 acquisition of NCA. Oceaneering has grown with the NCA acquisition, adding employees, equipment, tooling, vessel products and services including dredging, while maintaining an impressive company safety record.
The patented IMCT (Internal Multi-String Cutting Tool) uses abrasive water jet cutting technology as an environmentally friendly cutting option for well removal operations. The IMCT can run inside production casing as small as 7” for a cost effective, time efficient solution.
Abrasive cutting technology has forged repeated new records in the GOM during 2012. In September, a successful internal abrasive cut was made below mudline on a fully grouted multi-string conductor (30” x 16” x 10-3/4”) that was cemented to a 48” caisson. The DTS cutting track record in the Gulf of Mexico totals nearly 1000, with over 300 successful single and multi-string cuts in 2012 alone.

Custom Umbilical Termination Assemblies (UTAs) designed in Houston, TX by Oceaneering’s Subsea Field Development business unit are working for OGX in Brazilian waters. The UTAs were built in Brazil and successfully deployed to the Waimea Field Development using an Oceaneering® ROV with the support of Oceaneering IWOCS and Umbilical Solutions technicians.

Well completion hardware has been installed at a depth of 9627 fsw in the Alaminos Canyon area of the Gulf of Mexico by Oceaneering’s Olympic Intervention IV. Completion of the deepwater well, part of Shell’s Perdido Development, demonstrates the light construction capabilities of Oceaneering International, Inc. Project managers planned, engineered and executed the job through all phases with a perfect safety record.

Oceaneering “Six Shooter” Accumulator Module (7,500 psi charge pressure) with panel assemblies allowing for subsea charge and operation via ROV without requiring recovery to the surface.
Oceaneering International, Inc. has tested and delivered a Subsea Accumulator Module, dubbed the “Six Shooter”. The Six Shooter is six accumulators, each with 100 gallons per bottle volume and rated for 7,500 psi stored pressure. The module is capable of supplying +100 gallons per minute of pressurized control fluid for BOP intervention operations.
The Six Shooter Subsea Accumulator Module is deployed to rest on a mudmat or parking pile. An ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) actuates standard regulated output pressures of 5,000 and/or 3,000 psi. Other regulated pressures are optional. The unit can be fully recharged subsea via an ROV or rig hotline for emergency operations and is an ideal solution for testing BOP equipment.
Each Six Shooter module is capable of delivering about 142 usable gallons of fluid at 5,000 fsw or 80 usable gallons at 10,000 fsw (7,500 psi charge, 1,500 psi MOP). Oceaneering has now installed the 100th High Definition (HD) video system in the company’s Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) fleet. The Oceaneering HD ROV video package, designed and manufactured by company subsidiary Deep Sea Systems International Inc. (DSSI), is a broadcast quality system rated to 4000 meter water depth. The camera features a wide angle lens, which enables operators to see their ROV manipulators and the entire work site without panning.

DSV Ocean Project overboarding bundled 3, 4 and 6-inch bottom spools
Oceaneering Subsea Projects Group Diving division installed 7 riser clamps, 28 riser and bottom subsea spool sections and 39 subsea flanges. The tie-ins were supported with 64 concrete mats and 138 pallets of bags over 8 crossings. There were 0 incidents/injuries during the 240 dives.

Oceaneering International, Inc. has manufactured a multiplexed Blow Out Preventer (BOP) control system that meets all proposed API RP 53 requirements set forth by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Regulation and Enforcement (BOEMRE) since 2008. The OCEANEERING® BOP control system features more redundancies than any other system, including dual power supply circuits, fiber optic and copper wire communications, and master and slave controls. The result is a BOP control system with greater reliability, more real time diagnostics, and better fault-monitoring of critical components during operation than any other system on the market.
Also, Mr. Forrest “Earl” Shanks has joined Oceaneering Intervention Engineering (OIE). Applying 35 years of experience in the drilling and subsea industry with leading operators and contractors, Mr. Shanks will focus initially on product development for the company’s BOP control systems.

An Oceaneering® Millennium® Plus work class Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) has set an ROV ultra deepwater drill support depth record offshore India while working at 3107m (10,194 ft) water depths. Millennium 77 has supported drilling operations on the Dhirubhai Deepwater KG2 for Reliance Industries, logging over 400 hours and 69 total dives at this drill site alone from March to mid-April 2011. Millennium 77 is a 4,000 meter rated system that was put into service in Q1 2010.
