Neptune is a high resolution ultrasonic imaging tool. It was developed in-house and designed to examine welds, subsea pipelines or tubular structures.
Neptune is a non-diver-reliant technology. It will extend operating depths up to the maximum range of an ROV.
Enabling routine ROV inspections
External scanning of pipelines has traditionally been undertaken by divers who require expensive support vessels. Neptune enables routine ROV inspections. This will replace diver operations, reduce operation costs, and improve inspection quality.
How does it work?
Neptune enables high resolution wall thickness mapping. Time of Flight Diffraction weld inspection will take place via a ROV. The neutral buoyant Neptune system is deployed via an inspection class ROV to clients’ work site.
The application system will deliver high quality data. This will easily permit fracture mechanic analysis, and remaining life assessment to be carried out throughout the year without compromising divers safety.
