Oceaneering Space Systems (OSS) is a world leader in designing, manufacturing, testing, and maintaining equipment for human space flight activities, and training astronauts in its use. Since 1978, we have developed and delivered thousands of end items to NASA and other prime contractors for intra-vehicular (IV) and extra-vehicular activity (EVA, or spacewalking). We have developed a number of advanced life support systems and technologies applicable to future spacesuits and spacecraft, and full suites of tools and equipment for assembly, maintenance, and repair of satellites and other spacecraft, including the International Space Station (ISS). We are responsible for the sustaining engineering and replenishment of all operational EVA tools and crew aids, and for the operations of NASA’s Sonny Carter Training Facility Neutral Buoyancy Lab, NASA’s primary training center for extra vehicular activity. Oceaneering designed and built EVA equipment that flies on every space shuttle flight and is permanently installed aboard the ISS.
