Team Quality Assurance:

OII has a Quality Assurance system that is in full compliance with NAVSEA 0924-062-0010, Submarine Safety (SUBSAFE) Requirements Manual, and NAVSEA SS800-AG-MAN-010/P-9290, System Certification Procedures and Criteria Manual for Deep Submergence Systems.

We have evolved a Quality Assurance (QA) System that has resulted in OII becoming the third private contractor qualified to perform Submarine Safety (SUBSAFE) work. OII has developed a QA Manual and supporting Process Instructions (PIs), Welding Procedures, and Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Procedures, which together compose our Quality Control Process.

We have also qualified on the NAVSEA NOTE 5000, Activities Authorized to Perform SUBSAFE Work. The OII Quality Assurance/Quality Management System Manual, along with detailed Process Instructions (PIs), NDT and Welding Procedures, and QA Memorandums constitute the current OII Quality Management System.

We have specific PIs to accommodate the requirements of Scope of Certification (SOC) including Material Control for Deep Submergence Systems (DSS) material identified in P-9290.

We also have procedures in place for Formal Work Package (FWP), Controlled Work Package (CWP), or Re-Entry Control (REC) packages as addressed in the COMFLTFORCOMINST 4790.3, Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM), Volume II Integrated Fleet Maintenance, and Volume V Quality Maintenance.

The development, control, and certification of the REC packages is implemented by the OII QA Manual and governed by each system or platform's Scope of Certification Notebook.

OII uses the standard formats for Task Group Instructions (TGIs) and associated forms that document the necessary Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) as required by the NAVY Quality system (including Public Shipyards).
