Track Record

Oceaneering International, Inc., formed the Oilfield Projects Group (OPG) as a turnkey marine contracting organization to contract, manage, engineer, plan, and execute small to mid-size deepwater projects utilizing Oceaneering resources with the primary focus on the installation of subsea tiebacks in the Gulf of Mexico. OPG focuses on managing, scheduling, and operating Oceaneering's two Dynamically Positioned (DP-2) Ocean Intervention Multiservice Vessels (MSV's).

Ocean Intervention I (Strake Installation)
Ocean Intervention II (Jumper Installation)

Oceaneering's Oilfield Projects Group consists of experienced turnkey Project Managers and Engineers, operating out of Oceaneering's Corporate Headquarters in Houston, Texas. The Oilfield Projects Group integrates project teams utilizing personnel from the various Oceaneering service lines as appropriate to the scope of work. Oceaneering and FugroChance have an alliance offering integrated ROV and Survey services to the offshore oil and gas industry in the Gulf of Mexico. The integrated ROV/Survey service offers significant operational and deliverable product benefits, thereby saving time and money.

Project Installation and Excecution (P&A of Subsea Well)

The primary focus of the Oceaneering/Fugro Chance Alliance is to service the needs of the GOM's deepwater operators. Oceaneering and FugroChance are recognized leaders in providing ROV and Survey services in the GOM. FugroChance operates and maintains dedicated survey spreads onboard all of Oceaneering's vessels, including the Dynamic Positioned Multiservice Intervention Vessels. This lowers mobilization costs, shortens systems integration time with the ROV equipment, allows better scheduling for particular work scopes, and provides for more organized maintenance schedules that reduce unscheduled systems downtime.

P&A Subsea Wells

Oceaneering's Oilfield Projects Group (OPG) group is constantly engaging in subsea installation work and inspection, maintenance and repair services on subsea facilities, offshore platforms rigs, subsea pipelines, production facilities, and subsea developments primarily in the Gulf of Mexico. Focusing on deepwater subsea installations and field developments utilizing our Multiservice Intervention Vessels, the Oilfield Projects Group incorporates many of the different service lines within Oceaneering to create project specific teams to uniquely position Oceaneering for participation in and benefit from the rapidly developing deepwater market.

Pipeline Repair using Wasp System

OPG also provides skilled teams of certified divers, one-atmosphere ADS WASP diving operations, and Remotely Operated Vehicles and pilots to perform manned diving, pipeline, repair, topside inspections, jumper installations, and testing services. In 2001, OPG set world records for distance (28.5 miles) and water depth (2,720 feet) for a coiled tubing installation. Our team laid our first umbilical containing fiber-optic cables while simultaneously establishing a new Oceaneering umbilical lay water depth record at 5,320 feet. Last, we performed our first two subsea well plug and abandonments, one of which was in water depths exceeding 800 feet and our capabilities have since increased greatly. This demonstrated a new economical and technological use for our Ocean Intervention Vessels and saved our customers money, as opposed to using a drill rig to perform this task.
