Before production can resume following a hurricane's swipe across the GOM, operators may require subsea repair services performed by divers. After Ivan, Katrina and Rita, Oceaneering diving projects have included metal sampling, measuring, platform member removal and replacement, clamping, wet welding and dry chamber welding.

The three wide-area, Category V storms and other smaller storms affected numerous offshore developments. Some Oceaneering diving repair strategies have been immediate and performed short-term to protect assets from further potential damage. Other repairs have been more extensive. Oceaneering specializes in the complex repairs that require detailed planning stages and longer-term dedication of vessels, equipment and crews for successful remediation and production start-up. A backlog of projected work is forecasted well into 2006.
