SILS® Sets Record for Riserless Intervention
December 1st, 2009

Oceaneering International, Inc. successfully completed the deepest open water riserless intervention work to date using the Subsea Intervention Lubricator System (SILS)® in the Gulf of Mexico at a depth exceeding 2600 fsw. Performed from the Olympic Intervention IV, a DP-2 MSV equipped with two work class ROVs, the SILS has capabilities for production support, rig support, and decommissioning (P&A) including stub removal. The SILS offers an alternative strategy to a drilling rig for lowering costs of wireline based well intervention services.
